Teleférico das Achadas da Cruz

The cable car line connects the Achadas da Cruz area with Fajã da Quebrada Nova on the northern coast, near Porto Moniz. It was built to allow access to the land by farmers and the transport of materials.

Have a 5-minute trip along a 600 m line at 450 m maximum altitude. With a slope of 98%, this cliff is the steepest in Europe. Don't be afraid to go down because it's worth seeing the breathtaking landscapes and enjoying nature in its purest state.

Arriving at Fajã, contemplate the landscape, take short walks on the beach without diving because of the ocean current, and observe the imposing cliffs. Relax and experience communion with nature.

Return to Achadas da Cruz on the same cable car. Open every day from 08:00am to 11:30am and from 12:30 pm to 7 pm. There is a car park.
