Miradouro das Cabanas

The Miradouro das Cabanas is situated north of Madeira island and is located between São Jorge and Arco de São Jorge. This fantastic place offers a panoramic view over the famous Arco de São Jorge, the surrounding slopes and the Atlantic Ocean. On clear days it is possible to see Ponta Delgada, Seixal and Porto Moniz in the distance, and even the island of Porto Santo.

On your left side, facing the sea, you will spot a small cluster of typical Santana lodgings and houses, where you can delve into and experience the local culture and gastronomy, quite different from that of the southern region of Madeira.

To get to the Miradouro das Cabanas, you can do so by car, cab, bus (line 103), or through the various tourist services on the island.
