Teleférico Rocha do Navio

In the municipality of Santana, north of the island, we find the Rocha do Navio cable car, named after a Dutch shipwreck that took place there in the 19th century. Access it from Estrada da Rocha Navio, a five-minute trip but the favourite of many visitors.

In the past, the transport was for local farmers, helping them reach their fields and carry their crops. Now it also helps the visitor get to the Nature Reserve, which is exclusively marine. It is the best way to travel because walking along a steep rocky path, without having a panoramic view, without seeing Ponta de S. Lourenço, cliffs and beaches are to miss the best.

It has a small car park. Open every day from 9 am to 1 pm and from 2 pm to 5 pm, or 6 pm on weekends.
