Seixal
Place of Interest
Located in Porto Moniz, the parish of Seixal is bathed by the Atlantic to the north and delimited by the mountains to the south, making it a land of abundant natural resources, plentiful in water and idyllic settings.
Taking advantage of the natural landscape by the sea, on the old road between Seixal and São Vicente, watch Cascata do Véu da Noiva waterfall from the viewpoint. It is one of the most sought-after on the island, as the waterfall looks like a bride's white veil.
A magnificent combination of rocks and the Atlantic in incredible landscapes worthy of photographs at Praia do Porto de Seixal and Praia da Laje (black sandy beaches with free access and where you can relax surrounded by nature). Near the first one, do not miss the Natural Pools.
Explore Chão da Ribeira, integrated into the Laurissilva Forest, where you can enjoy a natural, rustic landscape and find old stone haystacks – built to support agricultural activity. You can rent one for short stays.
In January, attend the Festa do Panelo and feel like a resident tasting the region's version of Portuguese stew.
