Wine Cellar
Located on Avenida Arriaga, next to Loja dos Vinhos, Blandy's Wine Lodge has been the heart of the Blandy family's wine business since the mid-19th century. A valuable acquisition, with more than 650 barrels and vats stored where the best wines of the family are aged traditionally.
Visiting the Cellar is a unique opportunity to access 200 years of Madeira Wine history, visiting different rooms with their character and temperature that provide distinct ageing profiles. In the warehouse to the east, you will find a wine that dates back to 1920 and will have access to the family's private collection. In addition, the museum keeps artefacts, letters from Winston Churchill, coins from the Blandy Bank and the oldest mill on the island (17th century). In the frasqueira room, taste different wines.
Guided tours take place from Monday to Friday, in premium or vintage mode, between 10:00 am and 4:30 pm, lasting 45 to 60 minutes. They are available in several languages.
