Located in Caniçal, Museu da Baleia is a living testimony of Madeira's whaling history and all the work associated with it. They invite you to explore the island's seas with all their marine species richness.
The exhibition begins in Sala de Caça à Baleia, a room with several thematic areas that range from the surveillance network operations to the animal processing factory. There is a clear and noble highlight to the whaling fleet.
Exploring the present, we dive into a sea of life-size models of whales, dolphins and other creatures. You will be able to explore several 3D films and multimedia content that allow panoramic learning of different marine themes in their relationship with the oceans and, in particular, with Madeira.
The Museum has other facilities: shops, cafeteria, auditorium and, especially for the little ones, a didactic room equipped with educational materials.
Open from Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 to 18:00. General Price: 10€. Family Price: 20€.
