Located in Zona Velha do Funchal, close to the Funchal Cable Car, the Madeira Story Centre is such an engaging museum that you not only get to know the history of Madeira, but you will also feel part of it! From the Archipelago's geological formation to the present day, the visitor has access to a panoramic view of 14 million years. It's the perfect place to start your trip around the Island!
The infrastructure would like to provide a unique and interactive experience through the recreation of the Island's History using recreational scenarios, an exhibition of authentic objects and audiovisual and multimedia equipment, using the visitor's five senses. The trip is fascinating and combines playfulness with culture through the themes: Volcanic Origins; Legends of Discovery; Discovery of Madeira; Riot and Commerce; Strategic Island; Wood Development; After Navigation; Explore Madeira.
Other facilities in this place: a multifunctional terrace with panoramic views, a Madeira-themed café/restaurant and a shop for exclusive items and souvenirs. Open every day from 10 am to 6 pm. General Ticket: 5€.
